Creating Learning Environments for Compassionate Care
About this project
Project information
By a internationally leading research group at the Health Sciences, University of Southampton, UK studies are on-going in order to develop, implement and evaluate a "learning model" Creating Learning Environments for Compassionate Care (CLECC) in health care. The model is based on the basis of theories of learning in the work and situated learning, but little is known about the model's feasibility and impact on patient care and nursing staff experience of care given. The implementation is evaluated through observation of the interaction between health care professionals and patients, interviews with health care professionals and patients, questionnaires to patients and health care professionals. At a later stage, the model will be implemented and evaluated in a Swedish context.
Currently a systematic literature around the concept of Compassionate Care is on-going and translation/validation of instruments.
