The research group is interested in pedagogical work with children's human rights in preschool and primary school. The group's research explores how rights-promoting approaches are made possible in educational activities, and how the educational environment can thus strengthen rights. In addition, the researchers study how the education of children about, for and through human rights is organized. Current research within the group is specifically about the implementation of special school programs that are used to promote rights and what the rights perspective means in special educational contexts.
The members of the research group are active in the European research network Research in Children's Rights in Education, which meets annually at the ECER conference. Quennerstedt leads this network.
The group currently works within two projects:
Rights based school
Special education perspectives on children’s rights
