e-Health

eHealth is about the use of IT to improve health and deals with health and social care systems in a broad sense, including:

• IT systems for healthcare professionals and organizations
• Knowledge development (research, quality assurance, education)
• Public health (analysis, planning and implementation)
• Tools for patients/citizens to better manage their health and to improve interaction with healthcare

An example of our research is the project Future health information systems, were we together with Region Örebro County develop and evaluate prototypes for future health information systems. We are also involved in international projects, for example in Mozambique where we study how HIV patients can receive better follow-up and reminders about medication via mobile phones.
