Small particles that are transported into the lungs may cause more severe conditions than bad coughs. It has been shown that there is a link between low grade systemic inflammation and heart disease. We are e.g. interested in how the air that foundry workers breathe affects their lungs and how the inflammation caused is coupled to heart-disease.
