Collaboration
The backbone of PSF@ORU is the collaboration that takes place between different research environments within Örebro University. Moreover, we are actively partnering with other higher education institutions and engaging with society by seeking and opening up for collaboration on all arenas – locally, regionally, nationally as well as globally.
Our goal is to further strengthen our external collaboration efforts through initiatives on:
- disseminating knowledge of current research and highlighting research issues of relevance to society
- opening up to dialogue with businesses, government agencies, trade associations and NGOs
- actively contributing to the public debate
- sharing our expertise, knowledge and skills for it to benefit sustainability efforts nationally as well as internationally
- working together with other parties to contribute to solutions – such as developing new technology and innovations
- producing scientific data that facilitates the transition for industry and public services
- producing scientific data as support for policy decisions
Today, Örebro University is host to extensive research activities with close links to industry and the public sector. A few examples are:
The research profile ENFORCE conducts research into the risk and presence of chemicals with a solution focus, in partnership with twelve businesses and as well as the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Swedish Chemicals Agency, the Swedish Geotechnical Institute and the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management.
The research profile X-HiDE studies links between inflammation mechanisms and common diseases in collaboration with six business partners and four universities and research centres.
Center for Sustainable Business, CSB, is Örebro University’s centre for research on sustainable business and business ethics. Its purpose is to pursue research and development within the fields of circular economy, business ethics, sustainability accounting and communication, as well as within sustainable value chains.
PAN Sweden explores the impact on our bodies of eating plant-based protein rather than animal-based protein – a requisite development if we are to meet the climate goals. The scientists also explore what it takes for people to think that the products taste good and what it takes for them to want to buy them.
ORU participates in the EU project “Health Environment Research Agenda for Europe” (HERA), which has now put forward its proposal “the HERA Core Agenda for the European Environment, Climate and Health Research” to the Commission.
ORU is one of 13 university partners of the Swedish Academic Consortium on Chemical Safety (SWACCS).
