Örebro is a city in mourning.
On Tuesday evening and Wednesday, the University Chaplaincy in Forumhuset will be open to employees and students for support.
Staff from the Student Health Centre (Studenthälsan), our chaplain and Örebro Student Union will be available for those who want to talk or light a candle – regardless of their religious beliefs.
On Tuesday, about ten people were shot dead at Campus Risbergska in Örebro. The school in question is located approximately six kilometres from the university, on the other side of Örebro. It is a school that provides adult education, so called KomVux.
On Tuesday evening, the University Chaplaincy on the second floor of Forumhuset will be open until 9:00 p.m. They will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Örebro University will hold a minute's silence at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, and the flags on our campuses will then fly at half-mast.
Students who are on their VFU/placements at USÖ or in one of the schools where students needed to hide in classrooms as a precautionary measure during the day, so-called emergency invacuation, are welcome to schedule an appointment at the Student Health Centre. The same applies to all other students who need an appointment at the Student Health Centre.
Teaching on our campuses will continue and all our facilities and services will be open on Wednesday. For those who want to find a quiet place for a while, Örebro University has three Quiet Rooms. Quiet Room Forum is located on the second floor of Forumhuset. Quiet Room Prisma is located on the second floor of Prismahuset and Quiet Room Campus USÖ is on the fourth floor of Campus USÖ. The rooms are open to everyone regardless of faith or ideology.
