Record-breaking recruitment fair
Örebro University’s annual recruitment fair, Campusmässan, takes place today. It is designed to serve as a meeting place for students and employers and is visited each year by 4,000 students. This year, a record-breaking 125 businesses and organisations are exhibiting at the fair. Employers come from a variety of sectors. Engineers, preschool teachers and healthcare staff are among those who are in great demand.
"This is the 17th annual recruitment fair at Örebro University and it is fair to say that Örebro students are in demand," says Rebecca Wrigby, project manager.
Many exhibitors come back to us year after year, but new ones are also added. A new feature this year is an innovation and entrepreneurship market place.
"We will showcase our new initiative, Oru Kickstart, designed to promote entrepreneurship as a potential career path," says Markus Klinton, manager at the Department for External Relations at Örebro University.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to attend talks by company representatives from Atlas Copco, Nethouse, Ikea, Sigma, Kommuninvest, and the Chamber of Commerce. If they have got time, students can always get a cup of coffee in the student lounge or pay the health lounge a visit.
"The health lounge offers services like haircuts and hairstyling. Students can also receive advice on training, exercise, diet and nutrition from students attending one of the high schools in Örebro. The health lounge premiered during the career days we organised in the autumn and is back by public demand," says Rebecca Wrigby.
