Örebro University on the top 200 list of European universities
Times Higher Education today released their list of the top 200 universities in Europe. Örebro University places itself in the interval 161-170. “We have only been a university for 16 years, so this is a tremendous development,” comments Vice-Chancellor Jens Schollin.
Times Higher Education is one of the world’s most valued university ranking organisations. Universities are evaluated according to several criteria: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
“Considering our limited resources in comparison to the other universities on the list, this is very gratifying indeed. Much credit to our researchers and teaching staff.”
“This contributes to raising the profile of not only Örebro University but also of the city of Örebro on the international arena. Maintaining this position will require hard work also in the future. We especially need to engage in internationally oriented activities.”
In April, Times Higher Education’s global ranking of young universities is due. It includes universities around the world that have been established in the last 50 years.
“We look forward to receiving that ranking, where we will be compared with universities on a more equal footing.”
