Professor Willem M de Vos honorary doctor at Örebro University
Professor Willem M de Vos, Chair of Microbiology at Wageningen University, Professor of Molecular Microbiology, Helsinki University, Finland, and Finland Academy Professor of the Finnish Academy of Sciences, has been conferred an honorary doctorate at Örebro University, Sweden. The conferment took place during Örebro University's 15th annual academic ceremony, which was organised around the theme of "Courage" and attended by some 600 guests.
Professor de Vos is among the most highly-cited authors in microbiology world-wide and is considered one of the most reputable researchers on the role of the human intestinal microbiota in health and disease. He has played an important role in the development of the new research environment Nutrition-Gut-Brain Interactions (NGBI) at Örebro University and his pivotal knowledge and competence will contribute greatly to NGBI's future projects on gut-brain interaction.
