Hundreds of students and staff gathered on Wednesday to hold a minute’s silence for those victims of the violent attack in Örebro. Flags on our three campuses were flown at half-mast. The official death toll from the shooting at Risbergska in Örebro now stands at eleven persons.

Many chose to gather for a minute’s silence at noon today. By Krakadammen in front of Entréhuset on Campus Örebro, as well as outside the western entrance on campus USÖ and Måltidens hus in Grythyttan, students, staff, and others stood silently together.

At Krakadammen, many lit and placed outdoor candles to honour the victims.

During the day, police have been and will be visible on Campus Örebro. As a security measure, there are extra police officers on duty in Örebro.

More information is available for those seeking private counselling support at the university.

Örebro Municipality has also opened places for counselling and support. For those wishing to express their thoughts in writing, a condolence book has been placed at Örebro’s Town Hall. Information about the municipality’s efforts can be found on this page.
