On Wednesday 30 April, Örebro University, Örebro Municipality and Örebro County Administrative Board are hosting a traditional Walpurgis Night celebration by Örebro Castle in time-honoured fashion – with music and a bonfire.

Örebro University, Örebro Municipality and Örebro County Administrative Board are hosting the event, which is open to all and starts at 21:00 on Wednesday, 30 April.

The musical setting will be provided by Örebro University Choir, the Salvation Army Band, and musicians from the School of Music. The artistic director is Fredrik Berglund, Director Cantorum at Örebro University.

“As the night falls, we will offer a grand musical experience, ranging from traditional choir pieces to more modern tunes and interpretations of classic songs,” he says.

Masters of ceremonies will be Fredrik Berglund and Anna-Karin Andershed, pro-vice-chancellor of Örebro University, and a speech will be given by the chair of Örebro Student Union, Anna Olsenius. The bonfire will be lit by young archers from the upper secondary school Alléskolan in Hallsberg.
