About Tobias Danneleit
About Tobias
Tobias holds a master’s degree (M. Sc.) in “Hearing Technology and Audiology” from the Carl von Ossietzky University and the corresponding bachelor’s degree (B. Eng.) from the Jade University of Applied Sciences, in Oldenburg (Oldb), Germany.
Prior to his studies in Oldenburg, Tobias took an apprenticeship to become a trained hearing aid professional (cf. Swedish audionom) where he worked with patients on a regular basis.
Research
Tobias focus lies on the field of psychoacoustics and audiology. In his master thesis, he investigated binaural speech recognition of small instances of speech sounds, in particular phonemes that occur in the inventory of the Situated Phoneme (SiP)-test. Another aspect of his research regards how to further develop a binaural speech intelligibility model by using analytical computer-based simulations.
Teaching
Tobias teaches within the audiology programme on an undergraduate level. He teaches practical exercises of audiological measurements as well as hearing aid programming and hearing aids' signal processing. Tobias is also involved in psychoacoustic and acoustic lab sessions.
On graduate level, he has been repsonsible for a course about digital signal processing and auditory modelling that even involves some programming in MATLAB.
