About Thomas Hayes
Thomas is a PHD student in Political Science at Örebro Univerisity, focusing on the interactions of E-Governance and E-Participation with non-democratic regime classification and transition. In particular, he focuses on developing a regime taxonomy that allows for a greater comparative understanding of Internet governance, control and legitimation.
He previously studied an International Relations MA at DeMontfort University, culminating with a dissertation that explored the relevance of the applications of Just War Theory to the ongoing war in Ukraine, critically assessing competing claims of ethical conduct and justifications for conflict. His Politics and International Relations BA at Leicester University had a similar dissertation focus, exploring ethics in asymmetric warfare, with particular emphasis on conventional forces fighting counter-insurgency operations worldwide.
