About Johan Stjernqvist
Johan Stjernqvist is a doctoral student in criminology at Örebro University and a member of the research group Stalking and Intimate Partner Violence (SToP). His doctoral project is also part of the interdisciplinary RiskSam project, which examines collaboration between the police and social services in addressing intimate partner violence and stalking.
Johan’s research focuses on police efforts to prevent recidivism in intimate partner violence, with a particular emphasis on how various first-response interventions are implemented and their effectiveness. His work includes analyzing risk, evaluating the short-term impact of interventions on recidivism, and studying how different geographical and organizational factors influence the police’s handling of these cases.
Johan’s research aims to provide knowledge that can enhance both operational police work and strategic collaboration between stakeholders in the criminal justice system and social services.
