About Hans Balstedt
Teaches composition, arranging, harmony, counterpoint, ear training, electric guitar and guitar.

Short presentation
Hans Balstedt studied at the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, and has performance degrees in Composition (Master in Music) and Music Theory (Postgraduate Diploma) as well as a guitar and improvisation teaching degree (Master of Fine Arts) at the Ingesund Shool of Music, Karlstad University. Within the scope of his emplyment at Örebro University, teaching periods at the Brazilian universities UniRio, Rio de Janeiro, and UFPB, Paraíba, have been included. Hans is a musician and composer and composes chamber music, music for big band and orchestra. He has also worked as a composer and musician on a full-time basis at Stockholms Stadsteater, Orionteatern in Stockholm and Folkteatern Gävleborg.
Hans has received several scholarships, including a full-time postgraduate scholarship from Helge Ax:son Johnson's foundation for studies in composition and music theory at the Royal College of Music during the years of 1994-2000.
Since 2014, Hans has been an expert at the Swedish Council for Higher Education.
During 2024-25, Hans works with the project ICH North with a focus on folk music traditions and intangible cultural heritage in the Aurora area, including Sápmi: https://net.centria.fi/en/project/ich-north/
