About Filippa Klint
Filippa has a background as a behavioural scientist with a master's degree in psychology. She has previously worked with social care for children and adults with various disabilities. Since the fall of 2022, she has been a PhD student in social work at Örebro University with a focus on support for people with cognitive disabilities who have been exposed to violence in close relationships.
Research
Filippa is a member of the research group SAFe, which has an overall focus on research and development of support for social services work with cases of violence against people with intellectual or neuropsychiatric disabilities. Her research is funded by the Crime Victims' Authority (Brottsoffermyndigheten).
The first study examined current social work practices with victims of violence among people with cognitive disabilities. It found that professionals in disability support and in victim support differ significantly regarding available knowledge, systems for collaboration, instruments and tools.
The second study examined how the support apparatus (disability support, healthcare and police) value and treat the victims' own knowledge. Three dilemmas of justice in their treatment of victims' knowledge were found.
The third study examined how professionals from disability support and victim support were positioned in a collaborative meeting. The positionings promoted a victim perspective over a disability perspective and different forms of leadership and subordinateship.
The fourth study is planned to further investigate opportunities for collaboration between staff from disability support and victim support.
