About Elin Karlsson

Elin Karlsson is a licensed audiologist, has a master's degree in Audiology (University of Gothenburg), a master’s degree in Gerontology (Jönköping University) and is Doctor of Medicine in Disability research (Örebro University) with a focus on audiology.

 

Elin is employed as a researcher at the Audiology Research Center, Region Örebro County and is adjunct and affiliated with Örebro University. She teaches at the department of health sciences, mainly on the master's program in audiology/occupational therapy as well as on the audiology program. She works closely with researchers in Canada, South Africa, and the USA. She also has collaborations with researchers at Jönköping University, as well as in India, Norway, Switzerland. Elin's research area concerns the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF), instrument development (translation, psychometrics), Hearing and Functioning in Everyday Life Questionnaire (HFEQ), Everyday Functioning and Empowerment.
