Newbreed is a doctoral programme within the focus area of Successful Ageing at Örebro University.

Keynote address:
Pär Bjälkebring “Teaching an Old Dog New Tricks: Building Capability Across the Lifespan”
Pär Bjälkebring is a researcher and lecturer at the Department of Psychology, University of Gothenburg. He is co-director for AgeCap, the Centre for Ageing and Health at the University of Gothenburg and is also affiliated with the National Graduate School on Ageing and Health (SWEAH). Additionally, he holds an external associate position at the SOJC’s Center for Science Communication Research at the University of Oregon.
Pär obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Gothenburg in 2014 and subsequently spent three years as a VR International Scholar at Ohio State University.
His research focuses on the interplay of affect and deliberation in judgments and decision-making. Specifically, he examines how cognition and affect influence decisions related to wealth, health, and happiness throughout the lifespan.
