Marie Hammarström Liljesson: “Studying at GIH was perfect for me”

Everyone who saw the game remembers her goal on volley in the bronze match against Canada in the 2011 World Cup. Marie remembers nothing, everything went black. What she does remember is how, as a 13 year old, she went with the girls team in Glanshammar to a tournament in Denmark – and won! Parallel to her football career – including 43 matches with the Swedish national team – Marie Hammarström Liljesson studied physical education and health at Örebro University.
