Research at the Faculty of Medicine and Health
Our research focuses on common medical conditions and spans the entire field from a basic understanding of pathological mechanisms to patient-oriented research to enable the development of healthcare. Our researchers study the causes of both health and disease as well as the factors that play a part in the wellbeing of persons in these conditions.
At the end of 2022, the faculty board decided on the future organizational structure for research within the faculty. In short, the decision means that the research environment as an organizational form ceases within the faculty and that research groups will normally continue to be the primary organizational form for research within the School of Medical Sciences and School of Health Sciences. In order to make changes in line with the decision, a gradual implementation period was also introduced with the aim of enabling a smooth transition to the new order. This work is still in progress and some web pages are being worked on continuously to reflect the new organizational form.
