How to integrate perspectives in your study programme
Do you want to start or develop the process of integrating artificial intelligence (AI), broadened participation, digitalisation, sustainable development, internationalisation or gender equality in your programme?
Then you can use a simple method that we have developed at the Centre for Academic Development. Here is what you can do:
- Have the course coordinators and programme coordinators meet with the course team in a development meeting.
- Have the whole team map the different components of the course at the meeting.
- Identify which elements of the perspective already exist in the programme.
- Review which components could be developed in relation to the perspective you are working with.
- Design a simple development plan for one or more of the identified course components.
To ensure quality and useful results, it is a good idea for the entire course team, as well as student representatives, to be involved in the entire development process.
In order for the course team to fill the development plan with good content, they may need to
- consult some of the information and teaching tips available on these pages:
- read a joint article that you then discuss
- book a time for a collegial exchange of experience with another course team that has more experience working with the perspective in question
- order consultation or pedagogical support from the Centre for Academic Development.
Remember that practically all development work is good, regardless of its scope. It is better to reflect on and develop a small part of the programme than nothing at all.
Educational developers from the Centre for Academic Development are happy to act as catalysts in both the start-up and evaluation of your development work.

Here is a suggestion for an analysis sheet that the course team can use as a basis for their mapping. The idea is to be able to identify the links between the course components and the different perspectives. You can also take the opportunity to conduct a current situation analysis of the programme's specific knowledge areas if you wish.
