Om Shang Gao

Shang Gao is an Associate professor (Docent) in Information Systems at the School of Business, Örebro University, Sweden. He is also the coordinator of the Master's Programme in Information Systems (Information Security Management) at Örebro University, Sweden. He is specialized in mobile information systems, blockchain technology, information security management, enterprise modeling and technology diffusion. He obtained his PhD (2011) in information systems from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, and his MSc (2006) in Engineering and Management of Information Systems from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. 

He is the member of both IFIP WG 8.1 Design and evaluation of information systems and IFIP WG 6.11 Communication Aspects of the E-World. He also served as track-chair on mobile business at PACIS 2014, digital business at PACIS 2016, IS/IT Strategy, Leadership, and Governance at PACIS 2018, and Risk, Security, and Resilience at ISD 2023. He has published more than 80 refereed papers in journals, books and archival proceedings since 2006.

Research interest: Mobile information systems, blockchain technology, e-learning, enterprise modelling, technology diffusion, and information security management.
