About Sofia Strid
Sofia Strid is an Associate Professor of Gender Studies and affiliated researcher at the Centre for Feminist Social Studies at Örebro University.
Since 2022, Sofia Strid is Senior Lecturer in Sociology, Director of Doctoral Studies and, since 2024, Deputy Head of the Department of Sociology and Work Science at the University of Gothenburg. Sofia Strid is also a visiting researcher at Oxford Brookes University, UK and lecturer by invitation at the University of Belgrade.
Sofia Strid has been a Senior Lecturer, researcher and PhD supervisor in Gender studies, Media and Communication, Law, Policy studies, Social Work, Sociology, Political Science and Women's Studies in Austria, Belgium, Sweden, and the UK. Sofia's research focuses on violence as a system, resistance to feminism, and social, economic and ecological sustainability. She leads a number of EU projects in these research areas.
