Om Jeff Hearn, seniorprofessor i kulturgeografi
Jeff Hearn blev 2013 gästprofessor vid Örebro universitet, har varit seniorprofessor i genusvetenskap, och är nu seniorprofessor i kulturgeografi. Han är verksam vid Centrum för feministiska samhällsstudier, Centrum för våldsstudier och RGCSMM. Han är också professor i sociologi vid University of Huddersfield, Storbritannien, och professor emeritus vid Hanken Svenska Handelshögskolan, Finland, och var 2018-2021 professor Extraordinarius vid University of South Africa.
Forskning
Jeff Hearn har lång erfarenhet av forskning inom samhällsvetenskap, genusvetenskap, organisationsvetenskap och management, socialpolitik och sociologi. Forskningen har innefattat social och politisk förändring. Jeff Hearn har sedan slutet av 70-talet särskilt forskat om män och maskuliniteter.
Andra viktiga forskningsintressen är organisationer, management och arbetsrelaterade frågor med inriktning mot kön, sexualitet, mångfald och intersektionalitet, i och utanför organisationer. I sin forskning fokuserar han även på våld och kränkande behandling, framförallt mäns våld mot kvinnor och barn, och även kränkande behandling över Internet, postkolonialismen och transnationalisering, social teori, metod och materiell-diskursiv analys, autoetnografi och minnesarbete, informationssamhället och IKT, kulturvetenskap samt kroppslig förankring och åldrande. I nu pågående forskning fokuserar Jeff Hearn i huvudsak på transnationalisering, ålder, sexualitet, våld, män och maskuliniteter, arbete och organisationer.
